Statement of Qualifications
Veno Nathraj has been one of the leading hotel brokers in Southern California for over a decade. He began his hotel career as a broker for Marcus & Millichap. He was subsequently responsible for overseeing the Southern California hotel investment banking practice for PKF Investments, an affiliate of PKF Consulting, a national hotel real estate advisory and capital markets company.
Mr. Nathraj had the privilege of working as one of the lead advisors of the FDIC & RTC in the early 90's. His experience is broad in terms of working with owners and banks regarding distressed asset workouts and foreclosures in the hospitality industry. He has also worked with many hospitality industry leaders in the purchase of first trust deeds and property notes in order to reposition properties on their upside potential.
Working with developers as well as city municipalities, Mr. Nathraj has developed policies and mandates to increase the standards of hospitality construction and development. Mr. Nathraj has developed and constructed hotels in the Southern California market for the last twenty years. He has also created and designed a unique model for project management in the hospitality industry.
Mr. Nathraj has an expert view on unique, distressed and under-valued properties in the Southern California hotel/motel industry. He has sold hundreds of commercial and residential assets, including the 500-room Radisson Plaza Hotel at LAX. Mr. Nathraj has very strong community ties with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association and other groups that invest in hotels and motels nationwide. He has the ability to help in acquisition and dispositions in matters related to limited service hotels as well as full service and resort hotels.
Mr. Nathraj has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. His expertise includes brokerage in hotels & motels, construction of hotels and the operation of multiple properties. He currently consults and advises groups such as Casa Hotels and Hampshire Hotel South Africa, in construction, acquisition, disposition and operations of their hotel portfolio.
