Anthony C. Dimond
Statement of Qualifications
Anthony C. Dimond is a Principal with Horwath HTL group and is head of its receivership/asset management group. Mr. Dimond has over twenty-five years experience in commercial real estate activities. During his career, he has managed every type of commercial real estate from the initial planning stage, through construction, property operations, renovation and disposition. Specific to hotels, he has consulted with numerous national and international financial institutions as well as individual owners regarding their assets or troubled loans. Advisory services provided include development of strategic workout plans, property and asset management, evaluations, market repositioning, receiverships and trustee functions on a variety of full service, limited service and resort properties located throughout the United States. He has served as a court appointed receiver for over fifty hotel properties including the Marriott Sawgrass Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra, FL, the Inverrary Plaza Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the Westin Hotel & Convention Center (currently the Hyatt Regency) in Santa Clara, CA and several portfolios of select service properties.
Prior to joining Horwath HTL, Mr. Dimond was a principal and founding member of Dimond Hospitality Services, Inc., a firm that specialized for over a decade in hotel and resort consulting and asset management. He also was Senior Vice President of Metric Partners, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. During his twelve year tenure with Metric Partners, he directed the asset management department that was responsible for overseeing 125 commercial real estate properties located in most major and secondary markets in the country. The portfolio included 65-hotels, multi-family complexes, shopping centers, office buildings and mobile home parks valued at well over $3 billion. He was the Chairman of the Acquisition Committee charged with approving the purchase and sale of all properties in the portfolio. While Chairman of the committee Metric and its affiliates purchased 55 hotels along with 10 other commercial properties.
Prior to Metric Partners, Mr. Dimond developed shopping centers, worked for the Department of the U.S. Treasury, and held various accounting and auditing positions with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.
Mr. Dimond has given seminars on hotel asset management and receivership at industry conferences and has lectured on the subject of troubled real estate and asset management at the University of California's Graduate School of Business. He is a founding member of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association and a member of The Bay Area Asset Managers Association and Receivers Forum - Northern California Section.
